Due to the current Heat Wave, we have reluctantly decided to cancel our summer barbecue.  Temperatures are predicted to be above 38C in Vernon this Sunday.  This will not only make it very uncomfortable, but possibly even dangerous to be outdoors in the afternoon. 

Thank you to Otto for his generous offer to share his place for this and thanks to all who responded telling us you were coming.  We hope this doesn't upset your plans too much.  We'll look into the possibility of rescheduling this event for later in the summer.  

Mark your calendar for our Summer Barbecue. Otto Rieve has generously offered his property in Vernon for this event. 

‍As usual the club will be supplying food and light beverages so we'll need you to let us know you're coming so we can aquire enough food.  We're planning on Burgers and Brats with a couple of sides such as coleslaw and potato salad.  We've found it difficult in the past to accommodate diets such as vegetarian so if you have a favorite veggie burger please bring it along.  

We're gradually pulling things together.  Tom and Betty-Lee have offered to bring their barbecue over and we'll have a portable toilet and our sun shelters on hand.  You will likely want to bring your chair and if you want real plates and utensils you may want to bring those too.  We will have paper plates and plastic utensils on hand.  If anyone else can offer a propane barbecue for the day, I could transport it from Kelowna.
