The Valley BMW Riders annual Hedley Breakfast Ride. This will be our last visit to The Hitching Post Restaurant before the new owners take over. Brenda and Wilson have been our hosts for over 12 years. Hopefully we can retain the great relationship with the new owners.
Gary in the process of trying to run me over. Karma will come back to haunt him.
The usual pre-breakfast gathering around the bikes. Lots of tire kicking and tale swapping.
With everyone inside lining up for the great buffet breakfast, I was able to get a panorama of the bikes in front. There is almost as many more across the street.
CW - Grant, Brian, Don, Gary, Hu, Dave, Stacey, Judy and Ron.
CW - Peter, Terry, Estelle, Patrick, Russel, Lloyd & Maureen.
Ron making a fashion statement.
Dave proudly showing off his new rocket-ship.
Bob broke out the old \2 for the trip down. The old girl sounded pretty good. Rumour has it she took quite a coaxing to get out of the garage.
More schmoozing and tire kicking after breakfast.
Derrick from Kelowna came by to check us out and ended up riding back through Princeton Summerland Rd with me. A rest stop at the Rec Site at Osprey Lake.
Here is where Karma bites back. Terry waiting with Gary for a tow truck on Hwy 97 south of Summerland. It turns out the problem was not serious and the old RT is back up an running already. (Thanks for the photo Estelle.)

Shop to rebuild ANY shock that is local and does good work

For all you high mileage motorcycle riders
Does your ride bounce through those turns now when you used to hold a solid line ?
Is “Two-Up fast through the curves” now too much to ask for your ride ?
Time to replace/rebuild your shocks ?

BMW Liquid-Cooled Boxer

Rumor is spreading......

Beemer Technical Corner: The Mysterious Oxygen Sensor

For years now, most BMW motorcycles have been fitted with an oxygen sensor (or often two in the case of boxer twins). Most owners have only a general idea that the oxygen sensor is somehow involved with emissions control, but beyond that, its purpose is a bit of a mystery. I’ll try to make this less of a mystery.

Evaporative cooling

I suddenly realized I hadn’t a clue about the science of this. Maybe a smarter member of the club will help me out.
