Just a note to say thanks to Gary and Wayne for organizing a great breakfast today in Merritt. The ride over the Connector from Kelowna was spectacular but nothing compared to the ride home. Bernie and I took #5A north to Kamloops. If you're looking for a great ride, take this one. 5A is NEWLY PAVED from Merritt to the north end of Nicola Lake. Wonderful smooth asphalt, sweeping curves and very little traffic. The lines have yet to be painted.
Although a bit older, the great pavement continued all the way to Knutsford, just before you drop into Kamloops.
The only flaw on the highway is what looks like the start of a washout (dip on the lakeside lane) at Napier Lake, north of Stump Lake.
Truly a wonderful ride. Try it!

Thanks Bill. Glad you enjoyed the breakfast had a good ride home. I rode with Ron & Judy up to Logan Lake on 97C, then on Tunkwa Lake road down to Savona. That's another pretty good road. Now if we could only get you and Bernie into tenting.

I agree, Bill. Highway 5A from Kamloops to Merritt is one of my favorite rides. And the new pavement truly adds to the enjoyment. Now, if only we could get the BIG rigs off that road and back onto the Coq! And don't get me started on that topic!!!!!
